About this product

Grown in the high mountains of Nariño, near Colombia’s border with Ecuador, this coffee comes from the volcanic slopes surrounding Las Galeras, one of the region’s most iconic volcanoes.

Nariño is one of the most dramatic coffee-growing regions in Colombia. Its extreme elevation, cool climate, and mineral-rich volcanic soils create the perfect conditions for slow cherry maturation. At altitudes reaching up to 2,200 meters, the coffee develops gradually, building the clarity, sweetness, and structure that make Nariño coffees so distinctive.

The farms here are mostly small, family-run plots. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, pulped on the farm, and fermented carefully before being dried on patios under the region’s favorable mountain climate. The combination of high altitude, steady winds, sunny days, and low humidity allows for clean, even drying.

This lot reflects both the natural power of the landscape and the care of the producers who cultivate it. The result is a refined Colombian coffee with depth, brightness, and a true sense of place.

How to brew

We recommend starting with a 1:18 coffee-to-water ratio, which provides an excellent total extraction level and maximizes flavor pulled out of the ground coffee. For our single origin coffees we recommend a pour over method either on a Chemex, V60 or Kalita Wave on a 5 or 6 grind setting.
